An Interactive Website for Diverse Professionals Working on
Natural Resource Damage Assessments and Related Issues

This Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR) Practice Exchange website was developed in 2005 by the Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Damage Group, in cooperation with the US Department of Commerce/NOAA, the US Department of the Interior and representatives of the State natural resource trustee community, in order to facilitate communication among diverse practitioners engaged in the conduct of Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) and related matters. Liability for natural resource damages (NRD) arises under a variety of federal laws, including the Comprehensive Environmental, Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Oil Pollution Act (OPA) and the Clean Water Act, as well as analogous laws in over 35 states. This website serves as a focal point for exchanging information on a variety of issues, activities and meetings related to US natural resource damage assessment and restoration practices.

Note: A similar website related to natural resource damage and related issues under European laws, namely the Environmental Liability Directive, can be found at www.EUELDPracticeExchange.com.
